Before you reach out
Kevin Abroad fact-checks language learning advice on camera, and one of his recent videos asks whether a TikToker faked the science to promote an app. In 2013 the National Advertising Division, a US advertising self-regulator, recommended that the company advertising Pimsleur's Quick & Simple courses change "learn a language in 10 days" to show how basic that level was. It found that eight 30-minute sessions were enough for simple exchanges, such as introducing yourself or asking where the restroom is. For the five US channels here, write the brief around what a learner can do after a set number of lessons, and keep fluency deadlines out of the script.
